Stylize Your Shutters with Craftsman Shutter Frames in Charlotte
Every once in a while we’ll hear a Charlotte homeowner claim “all shutters look the same.” Let’s eliminate any misconception – that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Most people don’t know the number of options there are when it comes to choosing plantation shutters in Charlotte, and what kind of impact those options could have. Possibly chief among those options is the frame style you choose for your shutters.
Charlotte Custom Shutter Frames
The options available to you for shutter frames will depend on four things primarily:
-
How your window opens and closes.
-
The depth of the window sill.
-
Whether you need to have an inside or outside mount.
-
Your own personal style.
A few of our shutter frames are only available in certain materials, like our Polywood® faux wood shutters, a few are only able to work on an inside or outside mount of a window, and some will be a better match for your existing trim, like our Craftsman frame shutters, ideal for Craftsman style homes and only offered by Sunburst.
Here are some of the most common shutter frames we recommend to Charlotte homeowners.
Craftsman Frame Shutters - You can’t turn on HGTV or read a design magazine for more than a few minutes without seeing Craftsman style. This Sunburst-exclusive frame was created specifically for Craftsman style homes and similar designs. A Craftsman frame gives you a clean and simple look, so no part of your home looks “overdesigned” compared to the rest. If utilizing Craftsman fashion is your desire, this is the frame for you. Currently offered in Polywood and reclaimed wood shutters only.
L-Frame Shutters - An L-frame is possibly the least complex and most practical frame we offer. They have a tight, modern look, and tend to be the easiest to work around if your window has a peculiar size or shape. The L-frame can work as either an inside or outside mount, in case you want to keep your existing window trim, and is available in every single one of our shutters.
Z-Frame Shutters - Z-frames are a popular choice because they give you a stylized, elegant look on your window, much like bass or crown molding. The name “Z-frame” comes from the shape of its exterior, which is installed on an inside mount of a window jamb, but wraps around to the outside creating a “Z” shape. That extended shape lets it substitute for window trim if your windows don’t have any existing trim. Z-frames are available in all of our shutter materials.
Decorative Frame Shutters - A decorative frame is all about style. With extensive texturing and an elegant shape, this frame works best for windows without any trim, or if you want to cover your existing trim. Decorative frames are offered in Polywood faux wood and Ovation hardwood shutters.
